 Woman Sues Humane Society
I ended my On The Upside with Teri's show last Friday with a note regarding a woman who stated her dogs, including a mother nursing puppies was put to sleep she says by accident, or default I guess you would put it.
I have since spoken to Aimee Anderson at the Humane Society regarding this issue, and have also heard from the plaintiff in this case's Attorney, who will be sending me his notes so I may read it and put it on the air on Friday October 7th 2005.
I have very strong opinions on this issue after listening to Aimee, who I might ad seems to be a nice person, and who I have had some dealings with in the past myself, by being a adopted parent for a dog in another case until I found it a home.
Before I address my opinions, I would like to hear from my listeners....Lets just say the animal was not in court yet, is it deemed visious? Is there reports showing this "visious" mother and her puppies was acting like that to PEOPLE, even at the pound?? Was the hearing completed before carrng out a death sentence?
Suppose the owner IS an irresponsible pet owner, should the mother dog and puppies die, without so much as a blurp in the paper saying what's at the Humane Society, meaning "we need a foster family" for the moment. I know I would have done it, and I don't want any dogs. Or should the Women, (owner of the dogs), just lose her ownership, then go on with the hearing, and then foster familys or Humane Society how ever it works, finds homes IF the dogs were found to be safe or not guilty of the crime. As in this case they were.
There are over 600 animals at the Humane Soceity, but doesn't that include birds, chickens, gerbils, mice, hamsters, etc.....
I'm not going any further until I hear from my listeners...............Tune in Every Friday between 1-2P.M. on KAOI, that's 1110 on your dial AM........and here this story, and others, this Friday the 7th, On The UPside With Teri
